I thought I'd do a quick holiday recap before we get too far into January. Plus, I need to share all of the adorable photos I took over Christmas, right?
Are you ready for photo overload? Here we go.
The kids met the big guy at a Breakfast with Santa this year. One of them was more interested than the other.
Wells developed a healthy obsession with his Dutch heritage via our wooden shoes.
The kids finally got to meet their cousin, Oliver, who came to visit for three wonderful weeks. They're smitten to say the least. Wells says "Ol-vuh" at least ten times a day.
We met the big guy again on the Santa train.
Great Grandma and Grandpa came along too.
I got to spend a whole day with Oliver, which was a real treat.
Elia was off school and asked to come to work with me for a day. She had a blast and I can say that work is a lot more fun with a three-and-a-half year-old in tow. She especially enjoyed making sure the dresses were doing alright.
We went with my family to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra play. It was intense and awesome.
The kids really enjoyed reading their Advent cards every morning. I'm so glad I found them and look forward to returning to them next Advent season.
On Christmas Eve, we went to my grandparents as always. My phone was put away in my jacket pocket so I have no photos from the actually party but the kids were excited about holding candy canes beforehand.
We decorated cookies for Santa after the party on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas morning our family of four opened stockings and gifts.
Then had Todd's parents over for brunch. We also FaceTimed Christmas greetings to our Denver family.
Christmas night we went to my parents' cottage at Hess Lake to celebrate.
We celebrated with the Neckers side a few days after Christmas, a day after the Denver crew arrived. We love having cousins in town!
And we spent lots more quality time with the Cairo cousin too.
Wells tried his first doughnut.
He liked it.
We enjoyed an outing to the public museum.
And celebrated Todd's 35th birthday. With the kids...
And without.
This Christmas season seemed full but not rushed and it was certainly the most relaxing holiday season we've had since before the kids were born. I can't think of a better way to close out the year.
I hope your holiday season was as full as ours!
Good memories!
